Top 4 Cozy Fantasy Reads

Hey everyone, with a cold breeze blowing through Texas all I want is to cozy up with a fantastic read, have a cup of tea, and dive in! So, with the recent trend of cozy fantasy here’s my top recommendations:

Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree

This was my first peek into the cozy fantasy niche, and it was a blast from start to end. Finding your family, opening yourself up to new possibilities, and being fiercely loyal to those you love are just a snippet of what you’ll find in this fantasy world of orcs, talking animals, and magic. Our protagonist retired from a life of mercenary work to open the first coffee shop and bakery in the region, but life has a way of catching up to you! (Also, there’s a prequel to the story and it’s a marvelously fun read.)

Potions and Proposals by Kate Callaghan (Full review available)

This recently published book was a deliciously fun read! The cozy autumn vibes are strong in this tale of witches with a Romeo and Juliet complex. Frenemies to lovers, forced proximity, and potions going awry (maybe) are just a few fun finds in this world of magic.

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna

This charming tale was great from start to end. Finding your family and learning to own your power in this little New England, autumnal town. I love the subtle romance that spreads throughout and grows in an organic way, both opening up to new vulnerabilities and breaking down learned walls of protection.

Not quite cozy fantasy, but to me is very similar in feeling:

Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Fairies by Heather Fawcett (Full review available)

This book kept me enraptured! I enjoyed the Friends(ish) to lovers, the smart, educated woman on a mission, the growing world of magic and fae we’re introduced to. This was exceptional world building, constantly growing but not confusing, and often we’re exploring right alongside.
